Bamyan is one of the seven handover regions where the first phase of responsibility for security transition process to Afghan security forces will happen

"The PRTs in Panjsher and Bamyan relatively small ones; however very successful, will definitely not disappear or be dissolved in the near future," Gen. Blotz said. "They will, say, transition and develop themselves, but will of course make sure that all gains achieved are not in jeopardy because of transition."
